Founder/President:

Dr Paul Nkemngu Acha-Anyi is an accomplished academic, researcher and community development philanthropist. He holds a Doctorate degree in Tourism Management and currently serves as Senior Lecturer at Walter Sisulu University in South Africa. Paul has conceptualised, edited and authored three academic books currently being used at a number of Higher Education institutions in South Africa. Published by Van Schaik publishers, these books titled Introduction to tourism planning and Development: igniting Africa’s tourism economy (2018), Fundamentals of tourism: an African perspective (2020), and Project management for the service sector (2021) focus on introducing African realities into the tourism and project management curricula. Paul has published over 30 research articles in credible international journals accredited by the Department of Higher Education in South Africa. He has also presented several research papers at local and international conferences, notably in the United States of America, the Netherlands among others. Paul has supervised a number of PhD candidates to completion and is currently supervising three other PhD candidates from two South African Universities. About 47 Masters’ degree and 82 Honours/BTech students have graduated under his mentorship from five South African Universities and the University of Namibia.

Paul has an established track record in community service; the most prominent of which are Achas University institute of tourism and Business Management (founded in Buea – Cameroon) and Achas Safari Africa Magazine planted in East London – South Africa and Buea in Cameroon. Bright Future Foundation for Research, Innovation and Development (BFFRID) is his recent initiative. He has also served the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) as a resource person in Cameroon (2016), the United Nations General Assembly in New York (2017) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2022. Paul is passionate about the sustainable development of communities through tourism. He advocates a community-centred approach to tourism development and holds a pan African tourism vision.
